Automotive and small engine technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines. This role requires hands-on experience with various types of equipment, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Duties • Diagnose and repair small engines, including but not limited to lawn mowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks. • Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately. • Conduct routine maintenance checks and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently. • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. • Assist in sales by recommending appropriate products or services based on customer requirements. • Perform heavy lifting as needed during the repair process or when moving equipment. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency. Experience • Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in small engine repair or automotive repair. • Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus. • Electrical experience related to small engines is highly desirable. • Previous experience working with Caterpillar equipment is an advantage. • Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices. • Ability to work effectively with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. • Experience in sales or upselling services/products is beneficial.
