About the position
STROM MOTORSPORTS is a Motorsport Engineering and Services company dedicated to designing and building high-performance road race cars and parts, aiming for the same standards as prestigious brands like BMW and Porsche. Our primary focus is the B46 Race Program, which features a ready-to-run GT4 level race car engineered and manufactured in-house. In addition to our manufacturing capabilities, we provide comprehensive maintenance, service, and track support for clients with existing race cars. We are seeking motivated and intelligent individuals to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of race car culture. Our ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical and electrical experience with BMW vehicles from the mid-90s to current models, as well as experience in various forms of motorsport, with a preference for road racing. We value attention to detail, a growth mindset, and a passion for problem-solving. The role requires critical thinking skills to devise logical solutions to tasks and challenges, as well as a willingness to work hard and collaborate with the team, especially when deadlines are tight. Race events are time-sensitive, and we need team members who can rise to the occasion.
Responsibilities
• Inspect race cars returning from the track and note issues on the inspection sheet.

• Create a work plan to prepare the car for its next race.
,
• Perform standard service and repairs similar to those at an independent shop or dealership, including fluid changes, brakes, wheel bearings, and motor mounts.
,
• Make AN lines, brake lines, and fuel lines, and mount radiators and pumps.
,
• Install and position race seats, harnesses, and safety nets.
,
• Perform setups on cars, including measuring and setting ride heights, alignment, and corner balance.
,
• Diagnose wiring or electrical issues, particularly with standalone ECUs and electronics like Motec and ECUMaster.
,
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
,
• Assist others in the shop with larger jobs, such as engine removal and installation.
,
• Install performance suspensions (Ohlins) and perform setups on street cars.
,
• Travel to the race track with the team to support cars and drivers, including cleaning cars, assisting drivers, and performing major mechanical repairs.
Requirements
• ASE Certification in Automotive Repair

• ASE A8 Engine Performance Certification

• Mid-level Driver's License

• 4 years of experience in automotive diagnostics

• Strong mechanical knowledge
