Hendrick Motorsports Technical SolutionsLocation: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262 Hendrick Motorsports is currently seeking a Composite Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing Composite parts using predominantly pre-preg materials utilizing Industry Standard Lamination Techniques. Composite team members are responsible for executing trimming and finishing processes to finish parts and assemblies. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities include the following: • Prepare Molds and pre-preg patterns for Production • Lamination of Composites components following drawings and or Lay-Up manuals • Preparing Laminated parts for Autoclave or Oven Curing utilizing vacuum bagging techniques • Loading and unloading Autoclaves • Breaking Out / Demolding cured parts • Trimming / Finishing / Assembly of Composites Parts • Adhering to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards • Pro-Active in parts development and improvements • Always maintain a clean and organized work environment • While using scissors, stir sticks, and razor blades, the Composites Technician may be responsible for molding carbon fiber material utilizing the bagging process to mold parts. • Responsible for utilizing hand tools, such as a handheld grinder, to shape/trim parts and molds to specifications. Qualifications: • Previous experience and understanding of Composite Part Manufacturing, preferably within the Motorsports Sector • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal • IT Literate • Proficient and knowledgeable in the industry standards of producing advanced composite parts • Ambition – has the drive to achieve personal targets. • Able to work independently or in small teams • Detail-Oriented – pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. • Innovative – ability to look beyond the standard solutions. • Persistence – ability to complete tasks or continue in a course of action despite opposition or discouragement. • Self-Motivated – ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative. • Technical Aptitude – ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. • Working Under Pressure – ability to complete assigned tasks in stressful situations. • Time Management – ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Desire Education: GED or High School Diploma Desired Work Experience: 3-5 years in a related position Education/Experience: Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of operating basic hand tools, is required. Ability to work safely with Composite materials and other related chemicals. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required Communication Skills: Must have an ability to communicate effectively with others and serve as a team player to both departmental and organization team members. Attendance Expectations: The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work a flexible schedule is required. This position requires in-person attendance and can not be performed remotely. Physical Demands: Requires vision (near, peripheral, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – respirator, safety glasses, hand protection. Constantly stands, manually manipulates, lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less. Frequently sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds. Occasionally walks, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 40 pounds. Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read and comprehend Instructions, Correspondence, Technical Drawings and Memos. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Environmental Demands: Works primarily indoors.
