PERFORMANCE ENGINEER
Role Description
Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) is seeking experienced Performance Engineers to join the IMSA Cadillac GTP program.
The full-time position is based at our Brownsburg, IN workshop and requires travel to testing/race events.
Responsibilities
• Support the Race Engineer directly across all environments: trackside, event, and in-shop.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and develop future performance improvements.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of data analysis workflows.
• Compile clear, objective pre- and post-event reports for drivers, manufacturers, and partners.
• Manage and maintain the engineering database for event records related to car performance.
• Develop and apply energy-based race strategy tools.
Experience
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics.
• General understanding of aerodynamics and tire behavior.
• Proficiency in Excel and Python programming with a focus on data analysis is preferred.
• Experience preferred with tools such as Windarab, HHDM, HH Timing, SBG Timing, and Canopy.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional motorsports experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of trackside experience in IMSA, WEC, F1, FE, IndyCar or similar.
Position Details
• Full-time role based in Brownsburg, Indiana
• Travel required for multiple race events per season and additional testing.
