Job Description

Summary EM Motorsport is an industry leading electronic manufacturing company that supplies equipment and systems to high end Motorsport series. The role is offered on a contract basis and involves working as part of the Track Support team that delivers safety equipment and marshaling systems to the IndyCar Championship. You will be working closely with the race series organizers, race control officials and team’s technicians in order to ensure the correct preparation, delivery, installation, operation and evolution of the systems provided by EM Motorsport. Because of the nature of the professional motorsport industry the role involves working unusual hours, evenings and weekends as well as regular travel. Tasks and duties The main responsibilities of the contracted role include (but are not limited to): • Attend race and test events as required • Assist with pre- and post-event equipment maintenance and preparation • Set up equipment at events • Record allocation of units, track mileage and usage • Organise spare units and stock both at the track and in the factory • Analyse event data • Maintain and update daily event reports and issues lists • Support the Senior Track Support Engineer as required • Manage units throughout the season, including servicing of on-car units • Track faults/issues through to resolution • Liaise with equipment suppliers and service providers • Support in-house development tests Responsibilities As a contractor, you are expected to perform all tasks with care, diligence, and professionalism, working independently while cooperating with senior staff where required: • Ensure all equipment is operational and correctly configured at events • Prepare and publish concise, accurate, and timely daily and end-of-event reports • Organise and review downloaded data • Raise and document all faults/issues and ensure faulty equipment is returned for investigation • Organise unit allocation, stock, and maintenance (e.g., winter refurbishments, mileage logging, spares management) • Carry out delegated tasks as assigned by the Senior Track Support Engineer • Maintain a clean and tidy working area at all times (trackside and factory) • Represent EM Motorsport in a professional manner • Maintain good personal organisation when travelling (packing, documents, punctuality) Personal qualities and attributes The successful contractor should demonstrate: • Ability to read and write clear, detailed technical reports • Knowledge of electronic technologies (hardware and software) • Basic understanding of data processing and sensor management • Basic capability in mechanical drawing and CAD design • Methodical approach to problem-solving and technical tasks • Procedural mindset (following existing processes and contributing improvements) • Thorough and detail-oriented work ethic • Proactive approach—anticipating issues before they occur • Good computer literacy (MS Windows/Office, networks) • Excellent timekeeping and punctuality • Strong organisational skills, especially when preparing for travel • Effective communication skills (concise, clear, timely, with appropriate channels used) • Approachable and cooperative attitude • Calm and controlled under pressure • Motorsport experience beneficial but not essential (1–2 years preferred) • Full driving licence and valid passport required
