Job Description

About the position At the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), we are passionate about speed and motorsports, racing the fastest vehicles at speeds exceeding 300 mph and with power surpassing 11,000 hp. We are committed to providing competition opportunities for all drivers, from street-car owners to professional racers, under our initiative "Speed for All." Our organization not only focuses on the thrill of racing but also offers career-driven opportunities off-track and behind the scenes. We engage with our audiences through various platforms, including live events, broadcasts on Fox and Fox Sports networks, our website NHRA.com, and our publication, National DRAGSTER. Our team plays a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure of local grassroots racing and professional touring series across the country, as well as managing our corporate offices and remote functions. We are currently seeking personnel to assist with race operations within the North Central Division, which encompasses racetracks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The role involves being positioned along the racetrack to assist with track preparation and various areas of the staging lanes, as well as on the drag strip, including the ready line, water box, and start line during race events throughout the season. This position requires the ability to assist staff or competitors as needed, which may involve long hours (12+) outdoors in extreme weather conditions and in a fast-paced environment. Some roles may also require driving a commercial vehicle across the country, necessitating a valid CDL and registration in the FMCSA D&A Clearing House program. Responsibilities • Assist with track preparation at race events. , • Support various areas of the staging lanes during races. , • Work on the drag strip, including the ready line, water box, and start line. , • Provide assistance to staff and competitors as needed during events. , • Drive a commercial vehicle across the country if required. Requirements • Must be at least 18 years of age. , • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy. , • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, run, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. , • Ability to work well within a team and independently. , • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions. , • Ability to communicate effectively. , • General knowledge of racing is preferred.
