Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping and receiving operations within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and a solid understanding of logistics processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that all shipping activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with OSHA regulations. Duties • Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments. • Manage a team of shipping personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance performance. • Oversee inventory management processes to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies. • Implement process improvements to optimize workflow and increase efficiency in shipping operations. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing OSHA standards within the shipping department. • Coordinate heavy lifting and materials handling tasks while ensuring proper techniques are utilized. • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth logistics operations and resolve any issues that arise. • Monitor equipment maintenance needs and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary. Qualifications • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a shipping or logistics environment. • Strong mechanical knowledge related to shipping equipment and materials handling processes. • Experience in inventory management and process improvement methodologies. • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff. • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
