They are seeking a highly skilled Motorsport Technician to perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on high-performance vehicles, while also mentoring junior technicians and maintaining high safety and quality standards. Responsibilities • Perform advanced diagnostic procedures to accurately identify electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues • Execute complex repairs and performance upgrades, including engine and transmission removal/installation, suspension tuning, and forced induction systems • Lead the installation and modification of safety and performance equipment (e.g., roll cages, harness systems, brake systems, engine enhancements) • Interpret and apply complex wiring diagrams and technical documentation for vehicle assembly, repair, and customization • Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and software to ensure precision and efficiency • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and provide detailed assessments and recommendations • Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment • Maintain strict adherence to shop safety protocols and quality control standards Skills • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience as an automotive technician, with a significant focus on high-performance vehicles (Porsche experience strongly preferred) • Proven track record of successfully diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues • Expert-level proficiency in suspension geometry, chassis setup, and alignment • Demonstrated ability to perform engine and transmission removals and installations • Experience with installing performance and aftermarket equipment is required • Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles • Porsche Gold Certified Technician experience or equivalent Master-Level certification • OEM Porsche certifications or brand-specific training • ASE Master Technician certification or equivalent • Formal education from a recognized automotive vocational school or completed apprenticeship • Fabrication and welding skills (TIG/MIG) • Experience with high-performance tuning software (e.g., Cobb, Motec) Benefits • Health insurance • Professional development assistance • Employee discounts Company Overview • SP Motorsports is a used car dealership and service center.
