Motorsports Safety Response Team Company Overview: Mission Raceway Park, the premier motorsports venue in Western Canada with 71 years of rich history in the lower mainland, invites passionate individuals to join our dynamic Safety team. While our world-class Drag Strip, the only one in North America at sea level, has been a focal point of our reputation, we are now expanding into a full-service motorsports park and events venue. This expansion includes hosting world-class events such as Drift, Auto Cross, Road Racing, and Motocross throughout the year. Position Overview: We are seeking highly motivated, experienced Safety Personnel to join our motorsports. As part of the Safety Team you will be responsible for providing safety and care for all staff, participants and spectators at Mission Raceway. Working with the team is a vital aspect of the job but one must also have the ability and willingness to perform independentaly if needed. We expect all safety to learn the safety operations of the track and apply their skillsets at each event. All safety staff must hold a minimum of WorkSafe BC Active O.F.A Level II certificate or New 2024 O.F.A Intermediate or Advanced certification and must be willing and able to perform all aspects of the job such as medical assistance (staff, racers and spectators), track and car observation during all racing events, responding to incidents and proceed as necessiary, pushing and towing or vehicles , track clean up, flagging etc. Each safety crew personal will be trained on all aspects of track safety but must work within thier own responsibility while working in conjunction with one another. Qualifications: • Completion of Grade 12 • Minimum of WorkSafe BC Active O.F.A Level II certificate or New 2024 O.F.A Intermediate or Advanced certification with practicial experience • Considerable knowledge of the methods, procedures, supplies, and equipment used in administering first aid treatment. • Desired but not essential: EMA or FR • Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure • A valid driver’s license • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. • Self-starting attitude, with the ability to take charge and work independently with varying levels of pressure. • Willingness to learn and perform all aspects of the job, heavy lifting, towing, clean up etc. • Familiarity with motorsports and a genuine passion for the racing culture is a plus but not manditory REQUIREMENTS: • Attendance, punctuality, and consistency are vital. • Ability to carry out instructions via written, verbal, or diagram form. • Ability to administer first aid treatment effectively , exercise sound judgement in referring anyone for medical treatment and working within their scope of practice • Ability and willingness to follow directions, along with the ability to work independently. • Ability to communicate effectively in a tactful manner and enforce guidelines for safe operations. • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and work under pressure with minimal supervision. • Must be fluent in written and spoken English. WORKING CONDITIONS: • Both indoor and outdoor work. • Exposure to loud noise requires hearing protection.
