Job Title: Editor-in-Chief / Head of Programming, Motorsports US About the Role Motorsport Network is seeking a dynamic and experienced editorial leader to oversee the U.S. content vision and execution across Motorsport.com and its related platforms. This high-impact role combines editorial leadership, cross-platform programming, and product innovation at the intersection of motorsport journalism, fan engagement, and digital storytelling. The ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in motorsports (F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP), a strong track record in multimedia content development, and a data-informed approach to growing audience and engagement. You’ll drive strategy and daily execution, lead a high-performing editorial team, and collaborate across departments to deliver best-in-class fan experiences. Key Responsibilities Editorial Strategy & Execution • Define and implement a U.S. editorial strategy aligned with global objectives and audience interests. • Oversee all editorial output and cross-platform programming, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging coverage. • Ensure a strong and consistent brand voice across written, video, live, and social content. • Drive creative, data-informed storytelling that resonates with motorsports fans. • Lead coverage planning around major events - F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP, IMSA, endurance racing, and others. Team Leadership & Development • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of staff and freelance journalists. • Foster a collaborative, creative, and performance-driven team culture. • Set clear goals, provide feedback, and manage team performance. • Partner with social and audience teams to train and develop multiformat journalists. Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work with product, video, and development teams to optimize editorial experiences across platforms (web, mobile, social, OTT). • Play a key role in the development of data-driven products like Race Center Live and Motorsport Stats. • Embrace AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and support smarter content development, without compromising editorial quality. • Collaborate with global editorial teams and sister brands (e.g., Motor1, InsideEVs) to share content and best practices. • Align editorial efforts with commercial, product, and audience development goals to maximize reach and impact. Audience Growth & Optimization • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Chartbeat, SimilarWeb) to monitor performance and guide content decisions. • Leverage SEO best practices, social insights, and performance data to grow the U.S. motorsports audience. • Develop initiatives to deepen engagement, such as newsletters, podcasts, and exclusive fan content. Qualifications • 5+ years of editorial leadership experience in digital media, ideally within motorsports or sports journalism. • Proven ability to lead editorial strategy and deliver results across multiple content formats and platforms. • Deep knowledge of the motorsports landscape (F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP) and its passionate fanbase. • Experience managing editorial teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration. • Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for compelling, audience-first storytelling. • Proficient in analytics tools and data-driven content optimization. • Familiarity with digital video, newsletters, live streaming, and emerging formats. • Entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Based in NYC, with the ability to work in-office 4 days per week.
