The role of Motorsports and Driving Events Manager at Porsche Cars North America is an exciting leadership position that plays a critical role in shaping and executing the company's motorsports marketing, driving programs, and sports marketing initiatives throughout North America. This professional position is designed for experienced candidates in the motorsports and experiential marketing sector who are passionate about high-performance vehicles and motorsport culture. The role involves developing comprehensive strategies that align with Porsche Motorsport AG's global initiatives and maintaining a close collaborative relationship with the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), a leading racing sanctioning body.
Key responsibilities of the Motorsports and Driving Events Manager include leading all aspects of motorsports activations from conceptualization to execution. This includes managing budgets, customer hospitality programs, dealership events, and coordinating contract deliverables and vehicle logistics. The manager will oversee the motorsport fleet, plan high-profile events such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and partner with various internal departments including Marketing Communications and Public Relations to align marketing campaigns with larger brand objectives.
In addition to motorsports management, this role involves handling driving event logistics, such as track sourcing, registration platforms, staffing, vehicle transportation, and maintenance. The manager also supports Porsche Travel Club initiatives alongside the senior experiential marketing team and is actively engaged in sports marketing through the planning and execution of signature events like the bi-annual U.S. Golf Cup Tournament.
Operating with a multimillion-dollar budget, the Motorsports and Driving Events Manager is responsible for strategic financial planning and oversight, including annual budgeting and long-term financial objectives. Leadership and performance management duties include overseeing direct reports to ensure the achievement of organizational goals and fostering cross-functional collaboration across CRM, PR, marketing, and regional offices.
The role demands a dynamic individual with strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and resilience in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000, with compensation varying by location and individual qualifications, plus a discretionary performance bonus.
