Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
To strengthen our Motorsports organization, we are seeking an engineer to join our Vehicle Dynamics Correlation group, supporting all of GM’s racing programs. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with each Motorsports team to ensure our data, models, and simulation methods are accurate, reliable, and continuously improving. You will define test procedures for vehicles whether on track, on rigs, or in simulation to gather the data needed to validate and enhance our models. All projects must be delivered to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
• Play a key role in developing and implementing simulation tools across GM racing teams
• Help introduce state-of-the-art modeling and simulation capabilities to our partner teams
• Optimize the accuracy, fidelity, and performance of our simulation tools
• Design and build the tools you need to drive effective problem-solving
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field of study
• 5+ years of validated experience within a motorsport organization
• Extensive experience using a motorsport simulation toolchain
• Programming proficiency in any language (C#, Python, Modelica, etc.)
• Highly analytical, customer-focused, structured, and a strong communicator
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong work ethic and integrity
