About the position FAT Karting League’s mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by radically reducing the barriers to entry. We run karting events across the Midwest throughout the year to cater for drivers with different levels of experience, creating a pathway from age 6-17. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working people - with a passion for motorsport - to join our weekend staff crew for 2025. If you don't feel you have the skills listed for the advertised roles, and want to develop a career in motorsport, we would still like to hear from you. The roles we need to fill will involve working Friday to Sunday and potentially travelling to different karting circuits around the Midwest. Responsibilities • Assist in the organization and management of karting events. , • Provide excellent customer service and support to participants and attendees. , • Prepare and maintain karts for events, ensuring they are race-ready. , • Implement sporting regulations and manage judicial processes during events. , • Assist with on-track incidents and ensure safety protocols are followed. , • Ensure smooth operation of the pitlane and readiness of karts and drivers for races. , • Timekeeping for races and events, ensuring accurate timing and results. , • Coach drivers, particularly children, in karting techniques and strategies. , • Coordinate activities in the pit lane, leading a team and ensuring efficiency. Requirements • Experience in event organization and management, particularly in motorsport events. , • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure. , • Mechanical skills or experience, particularly with race cars, motorbikes, or karts. , • Understanding of motorsport rules and regulations. , • Experience in timekeeping for motorsport events, preferably with Alpha Timing. , • Good communication skills, especially when working with children. , • Leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure. Nice-to-haves • Previous experience in motorsport or related fields. , • Experience working with children in a coaching or educational capacity. , • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and travel. Qualifications
