Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
To strengthen our motorsports program, we are seeking a team simulation support engineer to aid in the utilization of our simulation toolchain within NASCAR race teams. The goal of this position is to provide valuable engineering support that results in on track performance improvement. You will collaborate with race team members and GM support engineers to conduct analysis studies using driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the use and education of DiL and offline simulation tools, facilitating team feedback to GM simulation development entities, aiding in the development and refinement of vehicle modeling inputs, and helping to establish baseline simulation settings for on-track events. You are expected to complete all projects to the highest standards. Proficiency in engineering-related tasks using computer software is essential. You should have an aptitude for proactively engaging with others in vehicle performance-related activities and a passion for using highly accurate and numerically efficient models.
What You’ll Do
• Play a key role as a performance support engineer embedded within a NASCAR racing team
• Assist race teams in setup and use of Driver in Loop (DiL) simulators
• Assist teams in fitment of collected data for the purpose of input to simulation modeling
• Be part of the broader simulation support team seeking to continuously improve and investigate methods to utilize the simulation toolchain and increase race team performance
• Provide race teams expert knowledge in the simulation toolchain functionality and modeling practices
• Represent racing team needs as a stakeholder in the simulation toolchain development process

Qualifications
- Proficiency in engineering-related tasks using computer software is essential
