Job Description

About the position Responsibilities • Conduct studies using virtual laptime simulation and vehicle data to analyze tire usage. • Characterize tires for modeling and data package generation using existing machine animations. • Collaborate with internal tire developers and external customers to provide tire-centric information for vehicle performance improvement. • Develop and adapt tire models for Driver-in-the-Loop Simulators. • Act as a customer-facing expert during simulator sessions at customer facilities. • Interpret tire physics to support tire and vehicle model development. • Develop tools and methods for performance analysis missions. • Promote tire models and provide support to customers. Requirements • B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Automotive/Motorsports Engineering. • Experience in data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and visualization using Python or MATLAB. • Experience in software-based tool development and problem-solving. • Excellent interpersonal skills for professional interaction with partners and colleagues. • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills. • Attention to detail and data accuracy. • Understanding of physics and math related to vehicle dynamics. • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, often on weekends. Nice-to-haves • Experience with tire modeling software (MF-Tyre, MFSwift, TameTire, Ftire). • Experience using simulation tools to optimize vehicle performance. • Experience analyzing on-track performance using vehicle dynamics principles and statistical methods. • Familiarity with motorsports data analysis software (WinTAX, HHTiming, Pi Toolbox, Atlas, Motec). Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Automotive/Motorsports Engineering
  • Experience in data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and visualization using Python or MATLAB
