About the position
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with GM supported teams and personnel to understand team objectives and convey findings.
• Continuously improve analysis methods and vehicle dynamics understanding.
• Develop new performance measures to characterize vehicle handling and performance.
• Prototype new ideas and validate them against track and test data.
• Implement solutions into the production toolchain in collaboration with GM Software groups and Andretti personnel.
• Employ the newest methods and tools into production analysis procedures.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related subject.
• 5+ years of experience in a top-level motorsports series including NASCAR, IMSA, F1, IndyCar, WEC, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in F1.
• Intimate knowledge of simulation workflows in a professional motorsports organization.
• Proficient programming in Python, MATLAB, or similar language.
• Extensive experience analyzing on-track performance using vehicle dynamics principles and statistical methods.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related subject.
• Race Engineering experience in an F1 program.
• Proficiency in Motorsports data analysis software including Pi Toolbox, Atlas, Motec or similar.
• Knowledge and experience in tire modeling and validation.
• Experience with aerodynamic testing and vehicle modeling tools.
• Familiarity with vehicle testing methods and data reduction.
• Experience developing multi-body simulation models in Dymola/Modelica.
